2012 Training and Conditioning Program

This summer, Next Hockey Level is hosting a Summer Training Camp at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton, Michigan. This camp will run from April 24th through August 4th. There will be a total of 48 sessions 22 ice and 26 dry land. These sessions will be held on weekday evenings with a couple of Saturday morning ice sessions.

The Ice sessions will be taught by Next Hockey Level staff, led by me Tom Carvounis.  Next Hockey Level has successfully trained athletes to perform at all levels from Bantam B to High School, Midget AAA, Juniors and College Hockey Players since 2007.

Our training will focus on quick feet, speed, balance, and core body strength using professionally approved drills that will humble the best of skaters to improve.

We will accomplish our training goals though pure hard work.

The Dry Land training will be orchestrated by Chad Smith owner of Dynamic Athlete Performance and his Staff.  Chad has over 2 years experience as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach of the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL. While there, Coach Smith helped guide the Kings to being the healthiest team in the NHL and increased the teams speed and power.

The Dry Land program will compliment all aspects of the Ice Training.  Athletes will go through a designed program that will focus on flexibility, balance, dapmechanics, first step explosiveness, abdominal and back strength, explosive strength (power), lateral speed and acceleration. Weightlifting will be done at each workout and will be designed based on each athlete’s individual needs.
